Tery,

Thanks for your comment!

One of the thing I have noticed is that there are many really top notch, hungry people who are out of work in this economy because their company didn't make it. I think there are good opportunities these days to upgrade.

Being a IT manager on/off for 10+ yrs, being in IT for almost 20 yrs, being in US 20+ yrs, my observation is that the 20/80 Rule that was prevalent back in the 70's, 80's is no longer applied. It's now more like 10/90 Rule. So those that "can’t help you enough to get where you need to go," are part of the 20/80 (or 10/90) Rule. And I've found it easier to deal w/ those who "don't help me" than those who "can’t help me enough." For those who "don't help me," I just let 'm go. But for those who "can’t help me enough," I've tried, and they just refused to thrive. All these who "can’t help me enough," just want to do the bare minimum to get a week by week paycheck and ride w/ the tide as long as they can. And they are part of the new 10/90 Rule. If this trend continues, I'm afraid I might see a new benchmark of 1/99 Rule. And this point we all will have no way to go but joining Easter Island ;>))
